Nokia Offers 5800 Navigation Edition for a Price Tag of $299 in the US
Nokia’s latest handset, the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition has been made available in the US markets by the Finnish cellular device manufacturing giants, which is the updated version of the Nokia 5800 touchscreen device. As per Nokia, the device features a voice guided Navigation system for North America, as the name suggests, which will run for a lifetime, and it comes with a car kit that could position the phone clearly on the dashboard or windshield.
The Navigation system of the Nokia 5800 NE is provided by Ovi maps, which can offer a very detailed navigational aid to both car drivers and pedestrians. The system offers them guidance on every turn and featuring safety features and directions for pedestrians, such as guiding them about one-way streets and park trails.
According to Nokia, and which we notice as a very impressive feature, the navigation system and its search function will continue to guide its users even without being constantly requiring data connectivity. This can be really good as despite you move out of the connectivity coverage of your network operator, you can still benefit from the navigation tools at your hand, which is when you will need them the most. They further informed the users that apart from the US and Canada maps featured in the navigation system, the users could always download maps of 180 countries of the world by using the Nokia Map Loader, an application available on the official US website of the company at the following address.
Apart from that, you can also synchronize your phone with Ovi maps on the internet.
The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition features a 3.2 inch touchscreen, which makes reading all those Ovi maps a much easier task, and some impressive sound features, such as surround sound capabilities and stereo speakers. Apart from that, the handset features a 3.2 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, HSDPA internet connectivity and an extendable memory through memory card slot which can offer you up to 35 hours of playback.
The handset is available at a price of $299 from the US website of Nokia, along with an offer of a $50 Visa prepaid gift card for those who purchase before December 31. But in order to avail the offer, you would have to have an active Ovi stores account.
